2 weeks ago I took my family Zip lining with your company in Skagway and I just wanted to recognize the wonderful experience we all had. With 2 Japanese speaking ladies and a newly turned 8 yr old I wasn't sure how it would go...but it turned out great. What a great memory maker!!!!! Please pass along a huge "THANK YOU" from Seiji..I am sure they will remember him!!! Thanks again....

Departing the dock in Skagway, guests on this tour will enjoy a town tour of historic Skagway on our way towards the Canadian border. It is about a 40 minute drive from Skagway to the shores of Summit Lake. Along the way, we'll enjoy spectacular views of the Denver Glacier, the White Pass and the numerous snow-capped peaks. We'll check in with the Canadian customs before arriving at the lake.

Once the groups arrives at Summit Lake, we'll take a short walk along a winding trail through rocky, alpine terrain, to where your large, motor assisted 12 person voyageur canoes are waiting along the shore. These large 12 person tour canoes are similar to the ones used by trappers and prospectors during the gold rush era. You'll be outfitted with life jackets, boots, and ponchos (if needed). After a short safety talk and paddling instruction, we'll launch out onto the water to explore the alpine lake.

The rocky glaciated landscape of coves and islets make for stunning paddling in a pristine setting. Snow-capped glaciated peaks surround the narrow, intricate waterway of Summit Lake. If guests are feeling tired, or the winds pick up, we have a small outboard motor on the canoes to assist us on this tour. We'll explore narrow channels and have the chance to walk around to explore secluded shores of the lake. After a short break, we'll board the large canoes explore more of the aquamarine colored waters of Summit Lake. After about 1.5 hours on the water, we'll return to our bus and back to Skagway to finish off the excursion.

This hike was very pretty. We were on a gravel trail initially, which then went to dirt and felt a little more adventurous. We hiked out to the peninsula south of town. It was gorgeous. We walked along the rock beach when we got out there and were astounded by the beautiful views. It was so peaceful and serene. Sadly, I don't think we saw any animals. Our tour guides, Abby and Tom, were fantastic. I can't say enough nice things about them. They were knowledgable and friendly and even carried people's backpacks and water. They brought snacks, and the peaceful peninsula was a great place to enjoy them, take pictures, and just relax. It was a great start to our day!

Many of our guides also lead courses and guided expedition trips for us both in Alaska and throughout the world.
What is the climbing like?
It is all top-rope climbing natural granite of White Pass. We have 12 climbs that range from 25 ft to 60 ft, and difficulty ranges from about 5.4 to 5.9, and our professional guides do all the belaying.
Is there a bathroom?
Restrooms are available on the dock prior to departing for your tour, and a non-flushing restroom is at the start/finish of the walk up to the rock climbing site.
Do you cancel due to weather?
Our tours embrace Southeast Alaska’s unpredictable weather. Our tours run rain or shine. If in a rare instance weather does cause us to cancel the tour you will be refunded in full and provided with assistance with finding an alternative activity for the day.

Hello, My daughter & I attended a rock climb & rappelling excursion in Skagway. We had the blast of our life!!! My daughter was a quick spider on the rocks, I, a slow spider!! It was awesome and from a personal stand point a great challenge for me... the experience was outstanding, the staff were knowledgeable, encouraging, humorous - great people to hang with. This was our number one adventure in Alaska....The rock climb will always be a very favorite. Thank-you for such a great opportunity.

We wanted to express how thrilled we were with the climbing & rapelling tour in Skagway. There was a wide range of climbing available, from beginner to advanced. We have climbed over the years and were dually impressed. Our guide Sean had a plethora of knowledge about Skagway and the climbs. He was well spoken, funny, intelligent and engaging. Our sincere thanks.

We've been on two Alaska cruises, and this was the best excursion we've had. The climbing guides made it great. They were enthusiastic, passionate about climbing, helpful and friendly, and inspired confidence with their experience and knowledge of climbing. My two sons and I had a great time that we will remember forever and tell others about.
