The areas surrounding Skagway and Haines are rich in culture and historical significance.  The native Tlingit village of Klukwan outside of Haines has a world-class presentation of its culture and works of art.  The famed Chilkoot Trail offers guests a walk through time in the footsteps of Gold Rush Stampeders of 1898.  The historic Fort William H. Seward in Haines, the first military fort in Alaska offers a glimpse of life in Alaska in the early 1900's.
